Personal Background and Approach
As an experienced therapist, cancer patient, and the mother of six children, my life experience and training has taught me the value of working with each person as a unique, dynamic individual. I passionately believe that while life challenges can be heartbreaking, they can also provide one with an opportunity to discover what is truly meaningful, and to enhance one's appreciation for optimal physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. I have personal experience raising children to adulthood, navigating the challenges and rewards of being in long-term relationships, and dealing with loss, illness and death. My family life has been touched for generations with addiction. Trying to navigate recovery programs for family members and clients has inspired me to develop an approach to therapy and addiction that connects people who are struggling with self-medicating , supports the "best" in each person, and provides hope and community.
